NEET Exam: Kolhan University Adjusts Schedule for 2026

In a significant move, Kolhan University postponed its semester exams to accommodate the NEET UG 2026 exam, which will take place on May 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This decision reflects the university’s commitment to ensure a seamless experience for candidates participating in one of India’s most competitive entrance exams.

The National Testing Agency has set up a total of 611 examination centres across 27 districts, anticipating around 2.09 lakh candidates to appear for the exam. The Examination Controller of Kolhan University stated, “The decision was taken to ensure smooth conduct of both university examinations and the NEET exam, while minimizing inconvenience to students.” Such logistical planning is crucial given the scale of this event.

Candidates must arrive at their respective exam centres at least 1–2 hours before the reporting time. This guideline aims to alleviate last-minute rushes and ensure that all participants can settle in comfortably before the testing begins. With the NEET UG Admit Card already released, candidates are advised to double-check their details and prepare adequately.

The NEET exam consists of 180 questions spanning Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, totaling 720 marks. The marking scheme awards +4 points for each correct answer while deducting -1 point for incorrect responses. Candidates aiming for top ranks should target scores above 650, making effective preparation essential.

This year, special provisions are being made for candidates traveling to their examination centres. Special trains will operate on May 3 to assist those commuting for the exam. Additionally, candidates are reminded to adhere strictly to exam guidelines — avoiding prohibited items such as mobile phones and electronic gadgets is crucial.

The NEET UG serves as the single entrance test for undergraduate medical admissions across India, making it a pivotal event in many students’ academic journeys. As preparations ramp up, Jaipur has emerged as a significant hub with numerous centres established there.

The landscape is set; with Kolhan University’s adjustments paving the way for an organized examination day ahead. Observers remain keen on how these arrangements will impact candidate performance amidst such high stakes.
