CBSE Class 12th Result Class 12: New On-Screen Marking System for 2026

In a significant shift, CBSE has adopted a new On-Screen Marking system for the first time in the upcoming Class 12 results, expected on May 23, 2026. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in the evaluation process.
Approximately 18 lakh students are awaiting their results after the board examinations, which commenced on February 17, 2026. A minimum of 33% marks in each subject is necessary to pass.
The CBSE has confirmed that the evaluation process is running smoothly. Sanyam Bhardwaj stated, “My evaluation is going very perfectly, better than the previous evaluation.” This assurance comes amidst concerns raised by some media outlets regarding the assessment’s integrity.
Where to access results:
- Results will be available on cbse.gov.in
- Also accessible via results.cbse.nic.in
- DigiLocker and the UMANG app will provide digital copies
The integration of On-Screen Marking marks a notable evolution for CBSE. Historically, results are released about five to six weeks after exams conclude — this year’s timeline aligns with that tradition.
Bhardwaj refuted claims of any issues with the evaluation process: “I refute each and every thing which has been stated in some media news portal. These are false and everything is perfectly fine.” His comments underscore CBSE’s commitment to maintaining a reliable assessment framework.
Students should prepare for their next steps post-results. They can download their digital copies from DigiLocker and collect their original mark sheets from their respective schools when available.
This year’s changes not only reflect a technological advancement but also aim to build trust among students and parents alike regarding the fairness of assessments.
