Xiaomi 17 Ultra Launches in India

Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17 Series in India, unveiling two flagship smartphones — the Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is positioned as a premium device, designed to push the boundaries of smartphone photography.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a 6.9 inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and an impressive 3,500 nits peak brightness. Weighing 218.4 grams, it also boasts an IP68 rating for protection against dust and moisture, making it a durable choice for users.

Powering the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a robust 6,000 mAh battery, which supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. This combination ensures that users can enjoy extended usage without frequent recharging.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with a 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor, a 50 MP main camera, a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50 MP ultrawide lens. This advanced camera system is designed to enhance photography experiences, particularly in low-light conditions.

Sandeep Singh Arora, a representative from Xiaomi, commented, “Xiaomi 17 delivers a well-rounded flagship experience in a compact form factor, while Xiaomi 17 Ultra pushes the boundaries of smartphone photography with innovations like LOFIC sensor technology and continuous optical zoom.”

Additionally, Xiaomi has highlighted the LOFIC sensor’s ability to significantly increase the sensor’s full-well capacity, allowing it to preserve details across both extremes within a single image.

The Ultra model also features a Leica 200MP telephoto system with 75–100mm mechanical optical zoom, further enhancing its photographic capabilities.

Both the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 will run on Xiaomi HyperOS 3.5 out of the box. The Xiaomi 17 is priced starting at ₹89,999, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is available for ₹1,29,999.

Both smartphones will be available starting March 18, 2026. Xiaomi is also offering a ‘Never Run Out’ promotion where the 512GB model will be priced the same as the 256GB variant during the launch period.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding additional features or market strategies that may accompany this launch.
