NEET 2026 Registration Update

The NEET UG 2026 registration window is set to close on March 8, 2026, at 9 PM. This announcement comes as thousands of aspiring medical students prepare to secure their chance to participate in one of the largest medical entrance examinations in India.

Alongside the registration deadline, the last date for fee payment is also March 8, 2026, but will extend until 11:50 PM. This dual deadline is crucial for candidates who are finalizing their applications and ensuring all necessary payments are completed on time.

Following the registration period, an application correction window will be available from March 10 to March 12, 2026. This allows candidates to rectify any mistakes in their applications before the examination.

The NEET UG 2026 exam is scheduled for May 3, 2026, and will take place from 2 PM to 5 PM. This timing is consistent with previous years, allowing students to prepare adequately for the test.

In terms of application fees, candidates from the general category will need to pay Rs 1700 for exam centres within India. For those belonging to the General-EWS and OBC-NCL categories, the fee is Rs 1600 if they are applying from India, while it rises to Rs 9500 for candidates applying from outside the country.

Additionally, SC, ST, PwBD, and third gender candidates will have a reduced fee of Rs 1000 for centres in India. These fee structures reflect the ongoing efforts to make medical education accessible to a broader range of students.

Historically, the number of students applying for NEET UG has increased significantly over the years, with expectations for around 25 lakh candidates for the 2026 examination. This surge highlights the growing interest in medical professions among Indian students.

As the registration deadline approaches, educational institutions and coaching centres are ramping up their support for students, providing guidance on application processes and exam preparation strategies.

Officials have not yet released specific statements regarding the expected number of applicants or any changes to the examination format, but the trends suggest a continued rise in participation.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding any last-minute changes to the registration process or examination logistics.
