Salah’s agent denies Besiktas agreement amid transfer speculation

Reports regarding Mohamed Salah‘s potential move to Besiktas have been denied by his agent, Ramy Abbas Issa. Widespread speculation had suggested that the former Liverpool forward was close to joining the Turkish club. However, Abbas stated that no decision has been made regarding Salah’s future, indicating uncertainty about where he will play next season.

Salah concluded his nine-year tenure at Anfield after agreeing with Liverpool to cancel his contract at the end of last season. During his time with the Reds, Salah, who arrived from Roma in 2017, achieved significant success. His honours with Liverpool include two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the Club World Cup, and the Community Shield.

Salah made 315 Premier League appearances for Liverpool, placing him fifth among the club’s all-time leaders in the competition. He is also one of only 10 players to have been both the leading goalscorer and top assister for a club in the Premier League, scoring 191 goals in the competition.

Salah’s future and other transfer news

Mohamed Salah has been frequently linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in recent years. His agent’s recent comments on X, where he wrote, “I personally do not know where Mohamed will play next season. What does that tell you?” and an earlier post stating, “It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise,” underscore the ongoing uncertainty surrounding his next club.

Meanwhile, other transfer news indicates potential movements for several players across European leagues. Bayern Munich has reportedly informed Real Madrid that France forward Michael Olise, 24, is not available for transfer this summer. Additionally, Borussia Dortmund and Germany attacker Karim Adeyemi, 24, is reportedly heading to Barcelona.

Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly engaged in a transfer battle for RB Leipzig and Netherlands defender Lutsharel Geertruida, 25, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland. Manchester City and Tottenham are said to be interested in Portuguese winger Francisco Trincao, 26, and could potentially intercept his move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli from Sporting.

Developments in Spain and England

Barcelona is reportedly preparing to intensify their pursuit of Atletico Madrid and Argentina forward Julian Alvarez, 26, following this summer’s World Cup. In England, Hull City has submitted a bid for Mjallby midfielder and Swedish World Cup star Elliot Stroud, 24.

Manchester United is exploring options to sign additional midfielders after finalising a deal for Chelsea and Brazil international Andrey Santos, 22. The club is also in the market for a goalkeeper to provide competition for Belgian Senne Lammens, 24, and may consider Paraguay‘s Orlando Gill, 26, from Argentine side San Lorenzo.

Greece centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos, 28, has attracted interest from multiple Premier League sides and clubs across Europe following his performance at relegated West Ham. Como is hoping to sign Colombia defender Davison Sanchez, 30, but Galatasaray‘s asking price could be a deterrent.

Newcastle United‘s prospects of acquiring England goalkeeper James Trafford, 23, from Manchester City have reportedly increased, as Aston Villa, a potential rival for his signature, aims to retain their number one goalkeeper, Argentine Emiliano Martinez, 33. However, Chelsea is also reportedly interested in Trafford.

New Benfica boss Marco Silva is reportedly keen to sign his former Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, 31, and a bid is reportedly being prepared to secure the Portugal international from Bayern Munich following his loan spell at Tottenham last season. Salah recently led Egypt to the round of 16 at the World Cup, where they were defeated 3-2 by Argentina.
