Anuj Agnihotri has secured the prestigious All-India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025, a remarkable achievement that highlights his dedication and perseverance.

Agnihotri, an MBBS graduate from AIIMS Jodhpur, studied for approximately 13 hours daily without any formal coaching. His journey to this top rank was marked by persistence and steady improvement, as he initially struggled to define his career goals.

In his earlier attempts, Anuj cleared the Union Territories Civil Services (UTCS) examination in his first attempt in 2023, which laid the groundwork for his success in the UPSC exam. Notably, he achieved this top rank in his third attempt, demonstrating his commitment to his aspirations.

A total of 958 candidates successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025, underscoring the competitive nature of this examination. Anuj’s achievement stands out not only for its significance but also for the hard work that went into it.

Reflecting on his journey, Anuj stated, “Initially, I was not clear about my aim in life. But I was sure that I want to serve the people and make an impact at the larger section of society with my work.” His mother has been a significant source of inspiration for him, as he noted, “My mother has always been my inspiration to serve the people and bring changes in our surroundings.”

Agnihotri completed his MBBS in 2023 and scored 94 percent in Class 12 from the Atomic Energy Central School in Rawatbhata. His father works as a technician at the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station, which adds a personal dimension to his story of success.

Despite the challenges he faced, Anuj remained resolute, stating, “If I hadn’t succeeded this time, I would have continued preparing for the next attempt. It’s a process and there are ups and downs. Now that I have succeeded, everything feels much easier.” His journey serves as an inspiration to many aspiring civil servants.
