CBSE Exam: Class 12 Results Set for May 2026

The introduction of On-Screen Marking for the first time in the CBSE Class 12 examinations aims to modernize the evaluation process and speed up result compilation. Scheduled for release in the third week of May 2026, these results follow a testing period that spanned from February 17 to April 10, 2026.
Historically, CBSE Class 12 results have been declared around mid-May — a trend that has remained consistent over the years. This year, students will be required to achieve a minimum passing percentage of 33% in each theory paper and in the combined total for every subject to pass their examinations.
Key facts:
- Results are expected to be announced after May 10, based on past trends.
- In 2025, over 16.9 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 examinations with a pass percentage of 88.39%.
- The On-Screen Marking system is being implemented for the first time this year.
The phased evaluation process began immediately after the exams concluded. Sanyam Bhardwaj, an official from CBSE, stated that the process is functioning ‘perfectly’ and remains firmly on schedule. He also dismissed reports suggesting disruptions in the digital evaluation system as ‘far away from facts.’
Students can conveniently check their results on the official website results.cbse.nic.in. This new digital marking system not only promises efficiency but also reflects a broader shift towards technology in education — a move that many educators have long advocated for.
The anticipation surrounding these results is palpable among students and parents alike, as they hope for improved outcomes this year. With the introduction of On-Screen Marking, stakeholders expect a more streamlined evaluation process that could significantly impact future examination formats.
